LEADER'S MESSAGE TO UMMAH ON THE OCCASSION OF BA'ITHAT-E- RASUL E KHUDA (SAW) MUBARAK! 27TH RAJAB

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei called perseverance in all circumstances as the great lesson of the glorious Prophet's Mab'ath (the appointment of Prophet Mohammad as messenger by Allah).

"The great Iranian people by relying on this decisive lesson and by powerful attendance in the fields and arenas of confrontation or cooperation and dialog continue their bright way," stressed Ayatollah Khamenei in a meeting with the system's officials, different groups of people and the ambassadors of Islamic countries Wednesday morning.

Ayatollah Khamenei felicitated the Iranian people, the great Islamic Ummah and all seekers of right and freedom on the occasion of Mab'ath calling necessary the learning of lessons by the Islamic Ummah from Mab'ath as a glory memory of human history.

"Islam's great Prophet in the petrified and stone-like atmosphere of Jahilia (period of ignorance before the emergence of Islam) turned a society empty of science, justice and ethics into an exemplary society and government based on monotheism, science, justice, logic and ethics," added Ayatollah Khamenei.

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution called resistance and firmness, deep knowledge and the Holy Prophet's adherence to Islam's path and goal as the most important factor for this strange and history-making change.

"The Prophet's perseverance, not fearing, not being greedy and not being deceived by the enemy's concessions caused the roots of perseverance, calm and confidence to strengthen in the hearts of the limited number of Muslims and that small number with their resistance against toughest circumstances including the very hard period of siege in Abi Talib Valley (near Mecca) to overcome the enemies and form an exemplary society," Ayatollah Khamenei said.

He termed adopting true stance toward progress as necessary but inefficient and said: "according to the divine tradition, trueness prevails when its followers show strength and resistance in all circumstances and situations."

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution called the true meaning of the Holy Quran's verse"Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, and those with him are firm of heart against the unbelievers, compassionate among themselves..." as strength and steadfastness in all fields, pointing to the incidents of the Holy Prophet's life and said: "the Prophet of Islam was the symbol of strength in the battlefield and in time of dialog with the enemies was also full of strength and resistance."

He strongly advised people especially the youth to precisely study the all-lessons life of the Holy Prophet of Islam, adding: "Imam Khomeini by making use of this generous spring and following the Prophet's faith and resistance started the great Islamic Revolution and movement and Iran's great people in the light of his (Imam Khomeini's) perseverance entered the field and with God's help toppled one of the most dependent governments of the world and raised the flag of Islamic awareness in the very sensitive region of Middle East, and with their resistance spread the waves of Islamic awareness among nations."

Pointing to arrogant powers' enormous but failed effort to weaken the resistance of the Iranian people and the Islamic system, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution said: "Iran's great people, against the will of all bullying powers of the world still support the oppressed people of Palestine and strongly condemn the shameful and scandalous silence of the pretenders of freedom and human rights in front of the Zionists' injustice and daily crimes."

The IR Leader also said the American President George W. Bush's support for the murderer and terrorist Zionists is in brazen contradiction with his claim of support for freedom adding that "Iranian nation is awake and fully understands the facts."

Recalling bullying and ambitious nature of the world arrogance, Ayatollah Khamenei said, "Backing down one step in the face of the arrogance will encourage it to come one step forward. The idea, that retreatment and giving up right stances and words will make the arrogance change its policy, is totally wrong and baseless."

Ayatollah Khamenei called the word of monotheism and unity as the main message of the Iranian people's resistance, adding: "the Iranian people is only God's servant, not the servant of America, the arrogant powers and the Abu Jahls of the time."

Terming nuclear bomb producers and the ones threatening mankind's security and calm as "Abujahl" (ignorant persons) in today's world, Ayatollah Khamenei said, "The present time Abujahls (ignorant persons), who only look at their arms and roar like foolish hooligans, do know that Iranian nation pursues nuclear energy for electricity generation.

"They (the west) however claim that since such a work gives you power, we will not allow you to pursue it," IR Leader added.

Ayatollah Khamenei said Iranian nation's present capability, and regional influence and strength cannot be compared with the past.

"A bright horizon is ahead of dear Iran; we do know what we do and where we will get. We think that reaching to the point needs movement and perseverance and not standing idle or moving backward."

Ayatollah Khamenei said that today, Muslims should be wise enough and upgrade their knowledge standards and try to fully materialize the message of Mab'ath.

BAHIRA'S INTERVIEW WITH THE PROPHET



On the day the Quraysh caravan was nearing Basra, [21] Bahira, a devout monk, caught sight of it through his monastry's window. He observed the caravan shaded by a little cloud that kept pace with it.



Bahira came out of his monastry, stood in a corner and instructed his servant, `Go and tell them that today they are all my guests'.



All came to him but the Prophet, who was standing beside the property and equipment of the caravan. Seeing that the cloud had ceased to move, Bahira asked his guests, `Are all the members of the caravan present here?' They answered, `All but a youth who is the youngest'. Bahira said, `Tell him to come as well'. So he was asked to come to the monk's room. The keen eyes of Bahira noticed that the cloud over his head moved with him. Taken by surprise, Bahira kept staring at the young boy. When the meal was over, the pious monk told him, `I have a question to ask you and you must swear by Lat and `Uzza [22] to answer my question'.



Muhammad said, `These two you have asked me to swear by are the most detestable things to me'. Bahira said, `Swear by Allah to answer my question'.



He said, `Ask your question'.



After a short interview with him, Bahira knelt down before him and started kissing his hands and feet, saying, `If I live till you start your divine mission, I will most faithfully aid you and fight your enemies. You are superior to all of Adam's offspring...'.



Then he asked, `Whose son is this youth?' The caravan members pointed to Abu Talib, saying, `His son'. Bahira said, `No. His father must be dead!'



Abu Talib said, `You are right. He is my nephew'. Bahira then said, `This youth will have a brilliant, extraordinary future. If the Jews find out what I have realized about him, they will destroy him. Take great care lest the Jews should hurt him'.



Abu Talib said, `What is he destined to do? What have the Jews to do with him?' Bahira said, `He is predestined to become a Prophet, and the angel of inspiration will come down and make divine revelations to him'. Abu Talib said, `God will not leave him alone and will Himself protect him against the Jews and his malevolent enemies'.
