state and religion?

Salam...
Well we all know that Islam is a complete system... Still in our media we see at different places that there are talKs that religion is quite different from culture and ground realities... MY QUESTION IS WHAT DO YOU THINK.. SHOULD STATE AND RELIGION BE SEPARATED? IS ISLAM SOMETHING ELSE AND CULTURE IS SOMETHING ELSE??? SHOULD THESE TWO BE SEPARATED??? ARE WE AS A MUSLIM ALLOWED TO SING AND DANCE AND ENJOY MUSIC ETC(PART OF INDO-PAK CULTURE) AND ALSO PRAY NAMAZ ETC???

No, definitely not....Its not only about Islam but all Prophetic religions consisted a code of life.....Now if we look at the 7th century separation of church n state we come to see that it led to the ethical downfall of western society!!!(even though their religious life was a burden)
Definitely we dont want that to happen with our society....So we should evolve a culture that is in accordance with Islamic way of life!

Well...Refering to your post in People places and ideas corner regarding Dr Afia Siddiqui,it seems inevitable that state should follow the religion.bcz all prophetic religions gives some limitations in the methods of inquiry.......
Islam is a constitution,it give u rules and regulations to live your life peacefully and let others live it peacefully too....So even when a country postulates its constitution it keep sections for human n fundamental rights, independence of judiciary and etc etc.....So best Human n fundamental rights are gauranteed in islam which on one could have postulated....Similarly rights and authorities of judiciary are prefectly assigned by islam...N everyone wants fair justice......
Lihaza for having a peaceful just country islam is the way to follow.......But humare leaders tu corrupt se corrupt hote hain isliye unko islamic way of goverance pasand nahi hai bcz is tarha un se un ke palaces chin jayenge......and they have will to a live a life of common person!!!!

And even the teachings of Jesus-which is commonly regarded as purely religious-contained political elements...Since the the ultimate right of ruling the world is with Allah and man is only His khalifa to implement His way of ruling we should not say that state and religion(particularly islam) should b separated.....
