Many cases of human rights violation registered in USA: China
Chinese government in response to the US report on human rights, issued a report concerning realities about human rights in China during the past year and noted many cases of human rights violation which have been registered in the USA.
The report which was issued by 'China State Council' (CSC) on Thursday is Chinese reaction to a report released Wednesday by the US State Department on human rights situation in several countries.
The CSN said, "Almost 192 million people in the USA have personal weapons and during the last year (2005) more than 340,000 cases of crime happened in the USA by these weapons."
The report said, "After 9/11 event the US president ordered phone tapping for both domestic and foreign conversations, and even the e-mails of many people were ordered to be checked."
The report says during municipality election in New York in the last November Michael Bloomberg, the rich mayor of the city, spent over 77 million dollars for his election which meant he bought each vote at 100 dollars.
The CSC on its report of human rights violation in the USA said according to the US official statistics the poverty rate in the last two years has increased from 12.5 to 13.0 percent and the number of poor people in the country have reached to 37 million from 35 million.
The report went on to say the income level of the black Americans is one tenth of the white Americans.
It said although women form half of the population of the USA, they have 81 seats in the Congress which consists 14 percent of the 100 seats in the US Senate and 15 percent of the House of
Representatives.
Referring to the US invasion of Iraq, the report said, "Since 2003 around 100,000 Iraqis, including women and children, have lost their lives in the country."
In Guantanamo Prison hundreds of human rights violations have happened. In 2003, 23 inmates intended to commit suicide and last year 131 persons, only in August, went on hunger strike.
